Some great sporting confrontations are classics. And some are runaways.

Unfortunately, during a live showdown with salads at the Glendale Chop Stop restaurant on Tuesday, February 1, a bunny acted like she’d rather everyone leave her alone.

Honey “Mega” Bunny, a Flemish giant rabbit declared a “certified eating machine” by the promoters, was matched against Raina Huang, a record-breaking professional competitive eater, in a 10-minute lunchtime competition.

Before the opening bell rang, “Mega” briefly dived to reach the greenery, but the rabbit showed little interest in his meal once the competition began. With the exception of an occasional little snack, she was more a spectator than a competitor. Not a good time for a bad hare day.

Elevating the action to a battle between the rapids and the “four-legged us”, a second rabbit was brought in to help, but showed no further interest in the greens.

Undeterred by the double team, Huang finished 3.5 pounds of salad.

Huang, who devoured gigantic portions of burgers, burritos and donuts, said she appreciated the healthier option. “I don’t feel greasy,” she said.
