Honda Passport 2022 enters rally racing

Honda has announced that a team of engineers is taking the new Passport SUV to the field of rally racing. Honda presents the Passport 2022 stage rally truck specially designed for racing by the Honda Performance Development Maxxis Rally racing team. The vehicle’s racing debut took place at the Lake Superior Performance Rally in Michigan on October 15-16.

Honda competes in the Limited 4WD category with its vehicle. The class sees modified Street vehicles run at over 100 mph on closed courses in natural terrain. Running surfaces include gravel, dirt, mud and snow. The event has routes that stretch for hundreds of kilometers.

The Passport rally truck uses BRAID Winrace T rally wheels with Maxxis RAZR M / T or A / T tires. The race truck also features an 8-inch oil pan and custom-made rear differential skid plates to help protect the underbody. The truck also features high density polyethylene panels to protect the fuel tank and other components. Power comes from the production 3.5-liter V6 engine, nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system. No changes were made to the drivetrain or suspension.
