India’s longest running track set to open in Andhra soon: Meet the woman behind its development


The track design was carried out by the same company that changed the layout of the track at Kari Motor Speedway and is also behind another upcoming track, the Nanoli Speedway.

India is about to have its sixth tour and this will be the longest one yet, longer than the international Buddh tour. Imagined by Shana Parameshwar and Anush Chakravarthi, directors of the Brand One Motor Club, the goal of the track is to create a comprehensive racing ecosystem in the state that would invite young talent and also train them for motorsports. There will be opportunities for young riders in the form of championships and training with experienced mentors. It will also be open to other national and international events.

About the spirit behind the trail

To learn more about the race track and the concept behind it, we reached out to Shana Parameshwar who gave us details on the creation of the track and the club’s vision for it.

Shana entered professional racing in 2005 at the Sepang circuit and received several awards and honors in the sport. She achieved the title of “Fastest Woman in a Production Car” at the Buddh circuit in 2019 and drove the first Indian car to participate in the Modball Rally in 2017 (UK / EU). She also won first place in the Mercedes winter challenge in Sweden last year.

Shana shares her love for racing with her father. She has participated in formal and informal running events from a young age. Between 2005 and 2009, she was an integral part of the legendary K1000 rally in India and even competed as the official safety driver. She has driven many racing cars including Volkswagen, Porsche and Lamborghini. Shana is also a training pilot.

With a personal fondness for motorsports, it was easy for Shana to embark on the task of having a race track built in India. She tells us that the automobile club realizes that racing in all its forms is currently very limited in the country, and that is exactly what she hopes the new track and the opportunities it brings will be able to. overcome.

About the track

Part of the Amaravati Race Resort concept, the Marque One was unveiled in 2018 when it was intended to be a 3.4km FIA Category 3 track. But now its development plan has been extended and it will soon be 5.5 km long and will be built to FIA Grade 2 specifications. It will also feature the longest straight line of 1.1 km, slightly longer than the line. back right of BIC which is 1.06 km long.

Marque One is built in an area of ​​219 acres in the village of Kotapalli, Ananthapuram district of Andhra Pradesh. The area includes service apartments, a golf course, a sports complex and an automotive-themed amusement park. The track will have a pit lane of 12 garages, race control and a storage area for 200 cars.

It is FIA Grade 2 and FIM Grade B certified, which means that it can accommodate car races with a power to weight ratio of 1 hp: 2-3 kg and motorcycle races. It can also be scaled up to level 1 if needed.

The counter-clockwise circuit will have 18 turns and drops of up to 40 meters. In addition, the club also plans to build a drag track and an all-terrain track. There are plans for a skid and wet surface test area for automotive testing as well.
