The 2022 Power Series presented by Wingfield Motors in Killarney kicks into action on Saturday 12th February with a full program of races – and they “step up the fun factor for the whole family!”
A large car park all around the circuit invites you to bring a parasol or a gazebo, picnic baskets and coolers in hand. Skottel braais are encouraged, or early risers can park next to one of Killarney’s brick braais, strategically located at some of the best vantage points around the racecourse!
Hot snacks and frozen drinks will also be available, for those who prefer to watch more and cook less. Children’s playgrounds will help burn off excess energy, including the famous Kiddies’ Korner – absolutely free on race day!
R80 for adults, R20 for students under 16 gives you all of the above, plus a full day of world-class motor racing on two and four wheels! Children under 12 and members of the Western Province Motor Club enter free! Proof of vaccination for spectators at sporting events is no longer a government requirement, so simply pre-book tickets through Computicket. Alternatively, payment at the door is available and then you are free to follow the ring road to your preferred viewpoint or one of our shaded grandstands.
Spectators are free to move around and watch the action from different vantage points throughout the day, and the pits are always open to spectators, who can see the cars and motorcycles up close. Big fields for the Clubmans Saloons title, as well as the Alert Engines GTi Challenge and the BEJO Trustees Fine Cars Races will keep spectators on their toes, with the new Thunder Saloons class – an all-purpose class that focuses on big and wildly wicked engines – modified sedan bodies – promising to be as big a hit with fans as competitors.
The one-make V8 Masters and Makita Formula Supercars, where all the cars are the same and everything depends on the skill and nerve of the driver, will provide close racing. Purists will be delighted to learn that Sports & GT cars, as well as Formula Libre single-seaters will also be there. When it comes to two-wheelers, the heroes of South Superbikes/Superbike Challenge/Masters/600s, Strato Technology Clubman/Classic/Breakfast Run Motorcycles and Bridgestone Super Twin Cup 650 and Super Sport 300 Motorcycles will provide some of the closest , the most exciting race to see anywhere in the world!
Killarney promises action-packed racing for all tastes in motorsport’s birthplace of the Western Cape, with qualifying kicking off at 8am. More information can be found here.
