Newark’s Isabel Darvill pulls out of British National Cycling Tour racing championships in Scotland due to illness


The Newark Castle Cycling Club road bike time trial was won Thursday by club member O. Saunders in a time of 18 minutes 46 seconds.

M. Greenwood (Team Lungs2Legs) was second at 19-23 and R. Gibson (Team Amicus 13) was third at 19-42.

A total of 25 runners completed the 8.5 mile course at Flawborough.

Newark’s Isabel Darvill finished 11th in the British Cycling National Circuit Race Championship elite women’s race at Castle Douglas, Scotland on Friday.

Riding for the Pro-noctis/Rotor/RedChilliBikes/Heidi Kjeldren team, Isabel had a good lap in a very fast and technical race.

His teammate Jo Tindley narrowly missed victory after crashing into the final tight corner just before the finish, finishing seventh.

Feeling unwell with a bad cold, Darvill pulled out of the Championship road race on Sunday to try and recover in time for the Santini Otley Women’s Grand Prix on Wednesday and the Ilkley Women’s Grand Prix on Friday – both part of the National Women’s Television Circuit. Series.

Tuxford’s Jack Levick of The Rose Race Team finished third in the RTTC National 50-mile Time Trial Championship on Sunday in North Yorkshire in 1 hour 39 minutes 39 seconds at an average of 30.105 mph.

Moda RT’s Ian Russell finished third in a three-man field on Sunday in the Corley Cycles Masters C/D Category road race, part of the Percy Stallard National Series.

The day before, Ian’s son Stanley rode the British Schools Cycling Association East Midlands Regional Championships at the Darley Moor Motor Racing Closed Circuit, representing Lowe’s Wong Junior School, Southwell, and finished fifth against -the-watch and fourth in the circuit race.
