The Valley Speedway, Bangalore’s new FIA Grade 3 race track

We brought you exclusive news about the CoASTT race track in Coimbatore late last year. Now, evo India is announcing yet another new race track, this one located near Bangalore. The Valley Speedway is a new 2.4 km race track near Chitradurga, about 3 hours from downtown Bangalore. The project is promoted by Infratech developers and the land has already been acquired. “With Tilke’s team working in tandem with ours, we aim to begin construction by May 2022 and open our doors to enthusiasts by the end of next year,” says Amogh Kandari, Managing Director of Infratech Developers.

Work on the track began in November 2021, land was laid out for off-road and rally events, and then Tilke engineers and architects were recruited to finalize the track layout. Led by Hermann Tilke – the experienced circuit designer responsible for tracks like Yas Marina, Bahrain International Circuit, Sochi Autodrome, Circuit of the Americas and even our own Buddh International Circuit – the track layout has been refined to make sure he meets FIA regulations, especially on the safety front. While the goal is to get it certified for Grade 4, Kandari says the Tilke team is confident of achieving Grade 3 certification.

The track is located on a 53 acre parcel of land which sits in a valley (hence the name) with a stream running through it, making it not only a very beautiful location but also some fantastic elevation changes. In one section, from one corner to the next, the track climbs 18 meters, immediately drops 10 meters in the next corner and this continues for 2.3 km, which is a fantastic challenge for the pilots. Kandari says this track will be like India’s Brands Hatch (in UK). There can be a total of 4 track layouts and the use of natural terrain flow was also something that got the Tilke team excited. The circuit leaves the creek intact, with two bridges during one lap. The track will have a width of 12 meters going up to 16-17 meters in some places.

The race track is just part of the project – there’s a lot more on the way too. There are plans for a CIK Category B go-kart track next to the main racecourse. The layout you see in the photos will be fine-tuned before you get the go-ahead for construction. In addition to this, there are plans for a condo project with a clubhouse for members. These custom built villas will also have garage spaces so you can park your sports car or track cars on the track at your home. The condos also have incredible views of the entire track. A 100-room hotel is also planned, which will make it a real motorsport destination.

The Valley Speedway is about 170 km from Bangalore city center on the NH4 towards Pune and takes about 3 hours to get there. The track is about 6 km from the highway and should be easy to access for people coming from Bangalore. We are very excited about this new race track which is set to join other tracks under construction including CoASST in Coimbatore, Nanoli Speedway in Pune, Marque One in Anantapur and Pista Motor Raceway outside Hyderabad.
