Former British junior rallycross champion Tom Llewellin is set to get behind the wheel and compete this year.
A season of rally racing awaits the 20-year-old, starting with the Nicky Grist Stages in Builth Wells on July 10.
Tom said: âI can now take a new step in my career and drive the all new Mitsubishi Mirage R5 backed by Brace’s Bakery for the upcoming BTRDA Rally Series and the Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship this year.
“It’s a great opportunity to show what I can do against some of the best drivers in the UK.”
Brace’s Bakery is a family business that delivers throughout Wales.
Its manager, Jonathan Brace, is passionate about rally driving and sponsored Tom at a previous competition where he was declared the 2019 Wales Under-23 Champion.
To honor their partnership, Brace’s Bakery will once again sponsor Tom, as he showcases his four-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Mirage R5 at this year’s competitions.
Growing up on a farm in Rudbaxton, Tom started driving tractors and competed in rally competitions since the age of 14.
His father, David Llewellin is also a professional rally driver and has twice won the British Rally Championship title.
Jonathan Brace said: âDavid has always believed his youngest son Tom is the real deal, inheriting his dad’s rally genes.
âSo becoming champion of Wales in 2019 in the historic Ford Escort proved that point. He now has the opportunity to drive a four-wheel drive Mitsubishi R5 rally car on the UK scene, hopefully with success. , propelling him up the ladder of the world championships. ”
During this season, Tom plans to compete in around 13 races across the UK between July 10 and November 13.
The only one that has been canceled is the Kielder Forest Rally in Northumberland which was due to take place in June.
