ROBBINS (CBS13) – Two Fresno-area men are in custody following a shootout during a pigeon race in the town of Robbins, Sutter County.
On July 10, after the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office received a call about gunshot victims leaving the Acacia Street and Del Monte Avenue area, they learned that four vehicles had stopped at a pigeon race and many people came out with handguns and swords.
These subjects began shooting and stabbing the victims, according to a report.
A total of three victims were shot and stabbed in a dispute resulting from a lingering problem weeks earlier, MPs said.
One victim was taken to UC Davis Hospital and the other two to Rideout Hospital. They suffered various injuries, including a bullet in the foot, a bullet in the thigh and stab wounds in the neck.
While two have been discharged from the hospital, a third remains in critical condition.
MPs have since arrested Karanjeet Singh, of Selma, who is currently in custody on $ 1 million bail. He is due in court on Wednesday.
Satvir Singh Cheem, of Fresno, is also in custody on $ 250,000 bail, according to the report.
MPs say other suspects have been identified and more arrests are underway.
